8 Provinces with the Highest Increase in the Number of Voters

Based on the Republic of Indonesia General Election Commission (KPU RI) Decree No. 857 of 2023 concerning the Establishment of National Level Final Voter List Recapitulation in the Implementation of the 2024 Elections, the number of voters is 204.807.222 people. This number has increased by 12.036.611 voters or 6,24 percent from the 2019 Election, where there were 192.770.611 voters.​

From the increase in the number of voters, there were 8 provinces with the highest increase in the number of voters, namely as follows.

1. Riau, 18,36 percent.

2. Kepulauan Riau [Riau Islands], 18,09 percent.

3. Maluku Utara [North Maluku], 15,72 percent.

4. Nusa Tenggara Timur [East Nusa Tenggara], 15,39 percent.

5. Sulawesi Tengah [Central Sulawesi], 12,69 percent.

6. Sulawesi Barat [West Sulawesi], 12,22 percent.

7. Kalimantan Utara [North Kalimantan], 10,73 percent.

8. Kalimantan Timur [East Kalimantan], 10,69 percent.

However, despite being the province with the highest increase in the number of voters, the 8 provinces were not the 8 provinces with the highest number of polling stations. The 8 provinces with the highest number of polling stations are as follows.​

1. Jawa Barat [West Java], 140.457 TPS, number of voters 35.714.901.

2. Jawa Timur [East Java], 120.666 TPS, number of voters 31.402.838.

3. Jawa Tengah [Central Java], 117.299 TPS, number of voters 28.289.413.

4. Sumatera Utara [North Sumatera], 45.875 TPS, number of voters 10.853.940.

5. Banten, 33.324 TPS, number of voters 8.842.646.

6. DKI Jakarta, 30.766 TPS, number of voters 8.252.897.

7. Sulawesi Selatan [South Sulawesi], 26.357 TPS, number of voters 6.670.582.

8. Sumatera Selatan [South Sumatera], 25.985 TPS, number of voters 6.326.348.

In total, the KPU will set up 823.220 polling stations throughout Indonesia. An increase of 12.102 polling stations from the 2019 Elections, or as much as 1,49 percent. The number of TPS in the 2019 Elections is 811.118 polling stations domestic and overseas.

Of the total number of the 2024 Elections Final Voter List or DPT, 1.101.178 voters or 0,53 percent are disabled persons. The details are 482.414 voters with physical disabilities, 298.749 voters with sensory disabilities, 264.594 voters with mental disabilities, and 55.421 voters with intellectual disabilities.

The number of persons with disabilities in the DPT is less than in the 2019 Election, with 1.247.730 voters based on the Third Improvement of DPT. []
