The Structure of Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin Campaign Team, From Former Journalist to Former Chairman of KPU RI

Monday (8/20) nine secretaries general (sekjend) political parties supporting prospective candidates (bapaslon) president and vice president Joko Widodo or Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin submitted the list of names of the national campaign team to the Electoral Commission (KPU). The list of campaign team files, according to Article 8 of KPU Regulation (PKPU) No.22/2018 concerning Registration of Presidential Election Participants must be submitted to the KPU as a condition of nomination. The names that have been listed can be changed up to one day before the campaign period begins on September 23, 2018.

"Based on kpu regulation, this arrangement can still be improved until one day before the implementation of the campaign day, namely on September 21. That's the deadline for us to perfect the composition of the campaign team," said the Secretary General of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Hasto Kristyanto, at the KPU office, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

In the list of campaign teams submitted, there is a division of eleven directorates in the winning structure. The eleven directorates are, programs, content, political communication, communication and information (kominfo), campaigns, young voter gathering, fundraising and networking, logistics and campaign props (APK), law and advocacy, witnesses, and volunteers. There is also a special assignment division filled by six people, one of whom is Rizal Malarangeng and Isyana Bagoes Oka.

Aria Bima, a member of the House of Representatives (DPR) ri three periods from PDIP to program director. Tubagus Fiki Satari, airplane distro entrepreneur with billions of rupiah and former Chairman of Bandung Creative City Forum (BCCF) was appointed as Content Director. Usman Kansong, Director of Indonesian Media Coverage, as Director of Political Communications. Yadi Hendriana, Editor-in-Chief of MNCTV and Chairman of the Indonesian Television Journalists Association (IJTI), as Director of Communication and Information. Benny Rhamdani, member of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) from North Sulawesi Province for the period 2014-2019, as Campaign Director.

Furthermore, at the Directorate of Young Voter Gathering, G. Adi Kusuma as Director, assisted by five young people, namely Tsamara Amani, politicians of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Guntur Lebang, University of Indonesia (UI) students, Melisa McKinon, finalists of Miss Earth 2015, Hasanudin Wahid, Deputy Secretary General of the National Awakening Party (PKB), and Kirana Larasati, soap opera actress and movie star.

Meanwhile, Noor Achmad, a member of the House of Representatives from the Working Class Party (Golkar) chaired the Directorate of Fundraising and Networking. Marsda TNI (Purn) Usra Hendra Harahap, Director of Logistics and APK. Ade Irfan Pulungan, Vice Chairman of The Advocate of Love of the Fatherland (ACTA), Director of Law and Advocacy. Arif Wibowo, a member of the House of Representatives from PDIP, Director of Witnesses. Maman Imanul Haq, Nanny of Pondok Pesantren Al Mizan as well as a member of the House of Representatives from PKB, Director of Volunteers.

In the structure of the National Campaign Team, there are a number of national television media personnel, including Zelda Savitri, Reader of Metro TV news show, and Putra Nababan, former editor-in-chief of Metro TV. Similarly, former Metro TV journalist Meutya Hafid fills the ranks of Deputy Director of Political Communications, and Ms. Evita, a former Metro TV journalist who currently works as a Populi Center researcher assisting the Cominfo Task Force.

Not to be missed, a number of activists such as Nong Darol Mahmada who is one of the founders of Liberal Islam, Dita Indah Sari, activists in 1998, and Yustitia Arief, disability rights activist, also participated in the campaign team. Similarly, the former Chairman of KPU RI, Juri Ardiantoro, filled the position of Deputy Director of Law and Advocacy.

Bapaslon Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin appointed eight people as spokespersons, among them Ahmad Basarah, Johan Budi, Abdul Kadir Kading, Ace Hasan Syadzily, Irma Suryani Chaniago, Arief Budimanta, Arya Sinulingga, and Lena Maryana Mukti, women's equality activists who founded the organization Maju Perempuan Indonesia (MPI).

Nine general chairmen of political parties and supporters are at the top, namely the Advisory Board.The current Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla, is one of the Board of Directors, along with Puan Maharani, Try Sutrisno, Pramono Anung, Sri Mulyani, Akbar Tanjung, Dimyati Rois, Siswono Yudo Husodo, Suharso Monoarfa, Sidarto Danusubroto, and Admiral TNI (Purn) Marsetyo.
