The General Election Commission accepted Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka on the last day of registration for the 2024 Presidential Election. This third pair was supported by the Greater Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra), the Golongan Karya Party (Golkar), the National Mandate Party (PAN), and the Democratic Party as a combination of DPR parties. Previously, the KPU opened registration for presidential-vice presidential candidates from October 19–25, 2023, at 8:00–16:00 WIB, and on the last day, it was open until 23:59 WIB.

"For this opportunity, we only use one measure: whether the documents are complete or not." And based on information from the KPU team via Silon, the candidacy requirements and candidate requirements were declared complete," said Hasyim Asy'ari, Chairman of the KPU, in his remarks at the KPU Office, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (25/10).

Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming is scheduled to undergo a medical examination at the Gatot Soebroto Central Army Hospital (RSPAD) on Thursday morning, October 26, 2023. This medical examination is carried out to assess the candidate pair's ability to carry out their duties as president and vice president if elected later.

"So a full series of inspections will be carried out and led by an inspection team from the Gatot Soebroto RSPAD team," he explained.

Hasyim hopes that all parties involved in the election will be given strength and patience. He hopes that all of this can create fair and democratic elections and be able to make a contribution to Indonesia.

Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka are a pair supported by the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM). Apart from Gerindra, Golkar, PAN, and Democrat, which are DPR parties, KIM also consists of parties outside the DPR, namely the Crescent Star Party (PBB), Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Indonesian Guard for Change Party (Garuda), Indonesian People's Wave Party (Gelora), and one local party, namely the Aceh Party. The total number of political parties in the KIM coalition is 12.

Through this, KIM has fulfilled the threshold requirements for presidential candidacy by gaining support from DPR parties with a total of 261 seats (45.39%). In detail, Golkar has 85 seats (14.78%), Gerindra has 78 seats (13.57%), Democrats have 54 seats (9.39%), and PAN has 44 seats (7.65%). Article 222 UU/2017 requires candidate pairs proposed by political parties or combinations of political parties to obtain seats of at least 20% of the total number of DPR seats or obtain 25% of valid votes nationally in the previous DPR member elections.
